Indian Paintbrush Campground, Bear Creek Lake Park, Lakewood, Colorado

Bear Creek Lake Park is a municipal park that is a fun respite just west of Colorado Springs and Denver, and only three miles from Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater, the closest campground or RV park. We stayed here so that we had easy access to the amphitheater for a couple of concerts. The park is pretty with lots of open grassy areas and plenty to do including lakes, beaches, biking, hiking and walking paths, an archery range, stables, and of course, the campground. The campground is closest to the archery range but definitely a decent walk to the main lake and beach, Soda Lakes. At the lake there is adequate parking g if you want to drive your rig or a tow vehicle over for the day. You will also find paddleboard and kayak rentals. Summer days at the lake are busy and bustling, especially along.the beach. The campground is quiet being removed from the activities and offers views of the Rockies and surrounding grassy plains. One downside here is the highway noise, but sites are spacious, level, and offer picnic tables,  campfire rings and gravel sites. Interior roads are paved. We didn't notice a camphost or a way to get firewood during our stay, so come with supplies.
