Applewood RV, Wheat Ridge, Colorado

This simple, but relatively clean and quiet RV park is about as close as you can get to downtown Denver. It's a quick drive or a longer and more involved process to use public transit to get downtown; we used both. The park is back off the main city road which offers a little more privacy and peace and quiet than if it were set directly on the road, although slight road noise is heard outside. In fact, without Google Maps guiding us, we definitely would have driven right past the place. Interior roads are nicely graveled and check in was simple with our reservation; just a quick grab of our site map from the board out front. A sign indicated that without a reservation, you wouldn't get a site as the park was full. Although several RVers pulled in with us, the park didn't seem to be full, so a reservation is definitely the way to go here. Sites are separated by a split rail fence and each has a gravel pad, picnic table and Hookups. Some shrubbery and trees offer some greenery along the perimeter, but sites are mostly full of sunshine amd offer no privacy from neighbors. There is a small laundry room and a book exchange, but not much else as far as amenities. There is no tent camping available. All in all, this park was the perfect one night layover to explore the city.
