Gas City, as unappetizing as that may sound, is the nickname of Medicine Hat, Alberta, which is a fine little city in western Alberta, just a few hours outside of Calgary. We rolled into this RV park after scouring Google and found a wooded, pretty, immaculate campground. Late in the day, without a reservation, we were a bit nervous, especially with three other vehicles ahead of us in the check in line. In the registration office, the attendant said she gave away the last site, but to "hold on" while she finished helping them. Luck was in our favor as she spent a few minutes (I was sweating!) to see if she had anything available. Lo and behold she had a lovely back-in, water and electric site for us! We were delighted! The grounds here are pretty, shaded, and grassy with gravel pads. Sites are nicely spaced, giving most RVers a nice amount of space. There is a playground, basketball court, convenience store, laundry, restrooms with showers, geochaches, and pet area. Sites are extremely level and have fire pits and tables. The campground is located conveniently to the Trans-Canada Highway 1, but on a bluff top far enough removed to be peaceful and provide great views. This is a great stop!
