The closest RV park to Quebec City and the Old Quebec Square, this lovely, wooded RV park was the perfect apot to stay to explore Old Quebec. The province's official languange is French, and unlike the rest of Canada, you will find no English translations on signs or buildings and very few people who fluently speak English. Luckily, the RV park is fluent and accustomed to English travelers. Nearly 150 sites spot this hillside retreat, but I would estimate close to half of those are seasonal residents, so book your site early. Sites are best for rigs 30 feet or less; with the steep hills and tight quarters, we were about the biggest rig in the place at 30 feet. Perimeter sites back up to the woods, which we liked. Inland sites aren't as shady or scenic, but the higher up the hill you go, the better the views of downtown Quebec get. Sites for overnighters typically provide electric hookups, but many are "naturel," French for dry camping. Again, book early. Interior roads are roughly paved and site pads are either dirt or gravel, with a picnic table and fire pit. There are restrooms, showers, laundry, a pool, playgrounds, wi-fi ($), a great convenience store and cafe with fresh to make orders and prepackaged sandwiches and such. But, the best part about this place is the shuttle taking you to the heart of Old Quebec, for a reasonable fee. Reserve your shuttle seat the day before and be on time! It will drop you in the heart of Old Quebec where you will spend the day exploring the historical, Canadian French Square, which is full of restaurants, cafes, shops, and things to see and of course, the riverfront. We loved it here and loved how easy Camping de la Joie made it for us to get to the Old Quebec area.
