The town of Whitefish, located just a short drive from the west entrance of Glacier National Park is a wonderful destination for food, shopping, and a variety of festivals held in the town throughout the year. Whitefish RV Park is located on the southern end of town and offers easy access to the hub of the town's activities. Whitefish is very walkable, and a lovely bike path takes you from the RV park about a mile up to town. This flat and scenic path passes by Pin and Cue Bowling Alley (👍🏻) as well as shops such as Safeway and Ace Hardware. The morning of our expected arrival, we received a friendly call from the manager of this park, Denise. She made sure we knew exactly where to go and provided some pointers for locating the park. Once we arrived, we received a personalized text from Denise which further provided information about the park and the town. The park has nearly sixty sites, all if which are set beneath a canopy of pines and cottonwoods. The park is located off the main road, behind a well-kept motel, which offers peace and quiet. Interior roads are paved and site pads are gravel. All sites are level and some are pull thru while others are back in. Sites are somewhat close together, but we didn't mind as our neighbors were all quiet, friendly, and the park is scenic. Each site has a new picnic table and almost all sites are full hookup. There is an immaculately maintained laundry room, showers, and restrooms, as well as a small playground and Wi-Fi. There is a small area for tenters. We spent quite some time talking with Denise and learning her story of how she ended up here. Denise and her husband were not only hospitable, but very visible during our stay. They have been working hard to upgrade and improve the park, including its electrical system. The park is open year round and reservations are recommended.
