As a last minute reprieve from a historic heat wave, we opted to stay at this RV park offering electrical hookups. We didn't have much time (or internet capabilities) to research this park from our previous location within Olympic National Park. Upon arrival we were greeted by a lakeside resort that at first glance seemed promising. Once we actually entered the park, we found a rather dilapidated facility. The main office was stuffed with junk and did not have a welcoming atmosphere. The floor was sloped and I wondered if the whole building might topple. The laundry room was extremely filthy and has only one washer and two dryers. There are some nice amenities here including a common kitchen area, a covered picnic area which would be great for large groups, horseshoe pits, and two large grassy volleyball courts. Of course, the lake, Black Lake, is the main feature here, especially on warm summer days. Picnic tables spot the large grassy gathering point adjacent to the lake. A roped off swimming area keeps those rafting and swimming in a safe zone from fast moving watercraft. The views and access of the lake are outstanding. The campground offers many wooded sites alongside a small stream. There are also less wooded sites that appear to be occupied by permanent residents. There are restrooms, but also porta potties stationed throughout the park, which we found unpleasant both visually and aromatically. Interior roads are mostly unpaved and site pads vary from gravel to dirt. Sites have fire pits and picnic tables; our fire pit was filled with the previous visitor's trash, which we found unpleasant amd unwelcoming. Our RV site, as well as our neighbor's had a water and electric hookup only, with no sewer. There is a dump facility available onsite. Overall, for a one night stopover stay, this place was fine, but I wouldn't use it as a destination. The grounds and facilities could use some attention and cleaning up.
