I think the author of Campground Crazy Kids Korner said it best as we sat and absorbed our surroundings at this RV park: "It's misleading." We stumbled upon this park through a Google search. Its website has beautiful pictures that portray spacious, private sites nestled up against stunning rock outcroppings. The area this campground is in is worth a visit. The rock outcrops around camp and the nearby lake are stunning and unusual. Where this campground went wrong was portraying itself as a spacious RV park. Upon our arrival we were shocked at how unprivate our "premium" campsite was. Road noise is a huge issue in this camp, at every site, but especially at sites 46-49 and 68-73. All site pads and interior roads are a dirt/gravel mix. Sites are placed as close together as possible, to our displeasure. We observed a 5th wheel that was in such a precarious spot I am guessing it had to be lifted in with a crane. There is little to no privacy between sites. As we walked around, we noticed all sites had picnic tables, but the table was often close to unusuable due to lack of patio space. We did have a more generous patio space at our site; maybe that's what led to its premium status. The power pedestals at each site seem newer, but the water hookup was described by my hubby as "rudimentary with inconsistent pressure regulation." My eye noticed a sketchy orange extension cord going from the power pedestal INTO the the water box, where a puddle of water sat. Honestly, I was concerned that my husband might get electrocuted while connecting electric and water. There is a trail from camp to Watson Lake, which is a beautiful site. My recollection: the RV park website over-romanticized this trail. Laundry, a small convenience store, and kayak rentals are available here. The grounds overall are somewhat scenic, but this place could be so much better by reducing the number of campsites and giving twice as much space for each site. The potential to be a 5 star RV resort located close to downtown Prescott is here, it's just not utilized. Our three night reservation was cut short to a one night stay.
