This is such a lovely little campground located in the middle of Amish farms in Indiana's Amish country. When we pulled into the campground, we were pleasantly surprised to see authentic Amish people who had arrived by horse and buggy to enjoy dessert at the Frozen Custard Shop on site. We pulled into our site and throughout our stay continued to see Amish buggies and bicyclists pass through and past the property. All sites here are lovely,
spacious, level, gravel, and offer privacy among the lush trees and landscaping. Views of Amish farms are on all sides. This campground is well off the interstate, so it is quiet. Sites have full or partial hookups, picnic tables and fire rings. All interior roads and pads are gravel. Amish cabins are available for rent as well as tent sites. When dusk falls, you will enjoy dancing fireflies in summer. Just 3 miles further down the road you will find the Shipshewana Flea Market. This is a HUGE attraction late spring to early fall, amd it is the Midwest's largest flea market. Over 700 booths are located on the 40 acre property! Adjacent to the flea market you will also find a variety of Amish shops.
This campground is one of my favorites. It's simple, pretty, and full of friendly people and culture. We especially enjoyed the large open grassy spaces and wooded feel of the campground.
Best Sites: 12-15, 18-25, 34, 35, 42, 43, 44, 47-52
Poor Sites: 36, 37, 39
Hookups: Electric, Water & Sewer
Potable Water: Yes
Dump Within Facility: Yes
