Wahweap RV & Campground, Glen Canyon NRA, Page, Arizona

It had been several decades since I had been to Lake Powell, and I had very fond memories of the scenery and fun activities that the lake provided. Upon our arrival, I found that all those memories had not been embellished and that Glen Canyon National Recreation Area containing Lake Powell is just as beautiful as I remembered. If you've never been to Lake Powell, imagine being on a lake in the canyons of Zion, Canyonlands, or the Grand Canyon. In fact, the NRA is adjacent to several other National Parks including, Capitol Reef, Grand Canyon, Canyonlands, Vermillion Cliffs, Grand Staircase-Escalante, and contains Rainbow Bridge NM within the boundary of Glen Canyon. Wahweap is one of several marinas around this massive lake and within the marina you will dabble between Utah and Arizona, depending on where you are standing. The marina is a well appointed one with an RV park, boat/water toy rentals, fuel dock, boat launches, a dock shop with a Starbucks kiosk, a well-stocked convenience market, souvenirs, showers, laundry, a lodge with a grille, pool, pool bar, and additional gift shop. There is also plenty of overnight parking for boat trailers. In summer a shuttle
that transports you between all of these significant points of interest, which is ideal as summer temperatures average in the high nineties.

The RV park and campground is exceptional! Run by the National Park service, it is central to all of the aforementioned amenities and directly adjacent to the showers, laundry, and convenience market. Interior roads are paved and site pads are concrete. All sites in A-F loop have full hookups, making longer stays easy to manage. There are several numbered loops that offer no hookups for tent campers or those not requiring hookups. There is also a designated area for group sites. Several sites within the campground are pull through and are set up as "buddy sites" allowing you to share a common space with entry doors facing each other.  The best part of this campground and RV park is the stunning views offered at every site. All sites have lake views, so if getting on the water isn't in your itinerary, you can at least enjoy watching the activities on the lake and appreciate the scenery Lake Powell offers.
