Recently acquired from Durango RV Resort, this KOA is a upscale, beautiful facility for those traveling along the I-5 corridor. Just north of Sacramento and south of Shasta Lake, the park is set along the Sacramento River. Several sites are situated on the riverfront, while other sites are along a string of fountains. Also, the highway into Lassen National Park is in Red Bluff, making this a great home base if you have a tow vehicle.
The park is impeccable and well maintained. Large meeting rooms in several locations, an exercise room, two laundry facilities, and even a kitchen which serves morning coffee for a small fee are available to guests. There is also a large pool, spa, sports complex, pet wash station, propane, on site spa services, putting green, walking paths, and a small store. Curbside trash pick up is also available. Sites are paved with hookup posts positioned so you can pull nose in or back in, whichever you prefer. We chose to nose into our site so we could overlook the banks of the river, just beyond the photo to the left. There are also buddy sites available for those camping with friends. A shopping center and some restaurants are just a short walk away, and the resort will arrange for pizza to be delivered to your site. Our only complaint here is the noise from the interstate. I can only guess that the fountain sites would buffer that noise that kept us from sleeping soundly during our stay.
Location
Good Sites: 70-101, 114, 131, 150, 151, 166
Poor Sites: None
Hookups: Electric, Water & Sewer
Potable Water: At each site
Dump within Facility: At each site
