The hookup sites make planning around the weather a little easier.
Situated next door to Furnace Creek Resort, and across the street from two other fully dry camping federal campground, Sunset and Texas Spring (tents only), this campground offers a few sites with mesquite trees and all sites have a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains of the valley. With the bustling, touristy feel of the resort next door, we found this campground a nicer, quieter option, while still having the amenities of the resort (saloon, restaurant, gift shop, golf course, etc.). The park Visitor Center is easily reached via a walking path and a gas station is next to the campground as well. Death Valley National Park is the largest in size of all our National Parks, so having these conveniences nearby is a plus.
Large group sites and tent only sites are available as well. Site pads and interior roads are paved and level. Some sites are as long as 50 feet, allowing plenty of room for a dinghy vehicle if you have one.
