closer to the front of camp, so we avoided the steeper roads, but were disappointedly delighted that our perimeter site had beautiful views of the Deadwood hills that overlooked a motel chain miniature golf/bumper car and boat/racetrack. From 10 am to 10 pm each day, we heard the roar of racecar engines whizzing around the track. Sites further into the campground (up into the gulch more) eliminate the noise. Sites are typical of most RV parks; little privacy and little space between neighbors. A few trees spot the campground and the surrounding hills provide beautiful scenery. Staff here were very friendly and helpful. There is a lounging area, sport court, heated pool, laundry, and trolley service to town. The trolley service was great for us, as we do not travel with a tow vehicle, and for a nominal fee, we had service to town with departure times twice every hour. With great proximity to town, you could easily bike or take a longer walk to town as well. All 300+ sites are gravel, offer full hookups, fire rings, picnic tables and are close together. A few camping cabins and tent sites are also available. Most sites are back in, although some pull through sites are available.
