This RV park was a welcome site after a long drive across the northern plains of Montana along Highway 2. If you've traveled Highway 2, you know that there is very little in the way of accommodations. Prior to our trip, I searched high and low for a place in northwestern Montana, as our next stop was Glacier National Park. I stumbled upon this newer RV park that was a perfect fit for our quick overnight. Shelby is a small little town, but the largest we encountered that day. This park is on the western edge of Shelby at the junction of the 95 and the 2, just a few blocks from the historical Main Street. Affiliated with the
Best Western hotel chain, this park is located behind the hotel on a gravel bed and offers hookups. Open space is behind the park and the highway junction sits to the east. Sites are typical of an RV park and a few immature trees dot the park. With maybe 50 sites total, no site is preferred over others, unless you prefer a pull through over a back in. Note: You will check into this RV Park at the hotel front desk, and you have the luxury of choosing your own site. A small, but fabulously clean little laundry room, showers and lounge area are available at the center of the park. The hotel also offers a bar and a few concessions. There is not a campground host here, only hotel management. One disappointment, the hotel pool is available to hotel guests only. I definitely recommend staying here if you are traveling this long, lonely highway.
