Colter Bay RV Park, Grand Tetons National Park, Wyoming

Colter Bay is a well-developed village within Grand Teton National Park. The Bay itself is home to two different campgrounds, Colter Bay Campground and Colter Bay RV Park. We stayed at the RV park since it is the one of the few campgrounds within the park that offers reservations and we were concerned that during the summer peak season, we wouldn't be able to snag a site to accommodate our rig. The RV park also offers full hookups, which sounded good to us after several nights of primitive camping in nearby National Parks. When we pulled in, we were surprised by how wooded and rustic this RV park was. Colter Bay offers several
hundred sites, but maintains a more rustic feel with an abundance of pine trees between sites. Paved interior roads and dirt pads await you, along with your full hookup site. Sites are decently spaced considering it is an RV park. Adjacent to the RV park are many amenities including, the Visitor's Center, Jackson Lake, a tackle shop, boat rentals, boat launch, restaurant, café, large laundry facility, showers, a gift shop, horseback riding tours and a fully stocked market. The market was so great we actually stocked up on groceries for the remaining nights of our trip and had no problem finding what we needed. During the day, Colter Bay's village area gets busy with the hustle and bustle of visitors and many boaters. The RV park is a bit isolated from all of the activity, but close enough to join in. If you prefer more primitive camping and more spacious sites, the first-come, first-served sites of Colter Bay Campground are further removed from the village area. Sites in the Colter Bay Campground don't typically fill until late afternoon. One huge disappointment for us in both the campground and the RV park; there are no views of the Grand Teton peaks.

This looks like such a pretty campground! I love that there is so much shade. My husband and I love to go camping, and I would love to try somewhere new. It looks like it has a beautiful view, and really pretty surroundings.
