If you are planning on staying at Devil's Tower National Monument, you have a few options. There area several private RV parks just outside of the park boundaries, and this option, the National Park campground within the boundary of the park. Offering fifty primitive sites with spectacular views of the monument, this park is peaceful and a great place to camp. All sites are flat, crescent pull-throughs and have a picnic table and fire pit. The campground itself is comprised of two paved loop roads and site pads are gravel and dirt. Sites rest amongst a grove of trees and are spotted with sun and shade. A couple of longer trails lead up to the tower loop trail if you choose to take a longer, day hike. Or, the Tower's main
trail and Visitor Center are a few miles drive up the road. A prairie dog community lies adjacent to the campground. A picnic area, restrooms and an amphitheater are available to guests here, and that's it! The campground is primitive, so if you prefer the same views, but some amenities, there are private park options close by. Sites here are first come, first served, and during our visit, there were many sites available in the early afternoon. The campground closes in winter.
