Trailer Village, Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona

The South Rim of the Grand Canyon has a few lodges, Mather Campground and Trailer Village. Mather Campground is suited best to small trailers and tent campers. Anything over 30 feet will need to camp at Trailer Village. We were worried that this might feel less like camping in a national park and more like sitting in an RV park, however our worries were assuaged. Although sites are less private and less wooded than Mather Campground, sites here do offer scenery and
are only 1/2 mile from the rim. With those longer spots suitable for larger rigs also come full hookups, making a life just a little easier at the South Rim during the cooler months. Nearby is laundry, the Visitor's Center, a café, restrooms and of course the main attraction, the Rim. Sites and interior roads are paved and provide a picnic table and BBQ grill and the village is open all year. Don't forget to look up at night, as this is designated as an International Dark Sky Park. Reservations here are highly recommended.
