Bay Bayou RV Resort, Tampa, Florida

It's always difficult to find city RV parks that are safe, comfortable and scenic. Bay Bayou is just that. Located on the outer perimeter of Tampa and a few miles from Oldsmar and Safety Harbor, this resort offered us a convenient location while visiting family. The resort is located along an estuary, is very wooded and is clean.  Several ponds and docks along the creek provide additional scenery and fishing opportunities. The pool was our favorite spot to hang out here, and there is also a rec room with a pool table, shuffleboard and bocce ball court, dog parks with a heated bath, kayak rentals, common fire pit, limited convenience store, a fitness area, several laundry facilities and very friendly staff. Campsites are decently spaced and offer picnic tables. Some sites were on grass, others gravel. There are a number of permanent residents here, but the resort managers do a wonderful job of keeping a satisfactory level of  required upkeep to avoid unsightly rigs. Rigs must be 10 years or newer. All sites are full hookup and most are shaded. During our most recebt visit in 2020 we reserved a site here in the "new park" as they called it. These sites are a nice,
upgraded addition to the expansion of the park as they have level cement pads surrounded by grassy areas. Sites here are more defined from your neigh or here and also a wee bit more spacious. Almost all of these sites in the "new park" border some kind of water, whether it is the creek or a pond. The creek alongside moth of these sites is perfect for kayaks and you will find a kayak launch near site 12606. We have enjoyed our quiet stays here and will definitely choose this as our home base while visiting family again in the future.
