San Clemente State Beach, San Clemente, California

This bluff-top campground has spectacular views, awesome beaches and a great Visitor's Center! Sites sit atop a coastal bluff, offering spectacular views of sunrises and sunsets! Coastal breezes keep summer temperatures tolerable here and easy access to the beach below offers ample activities for the whole family! Surfing, body surfing, wading, dolphin watching, bird watching, wave watching, sunbathing, shell seeking, hiking trails, fishing and picnic areas are all popular activities to enjoy along this mile-long beach. Sites are
fairly level, some with electric hookups, paved asphalt, picnic tables, fire pits and offer a bit of privacy with shrubbery between some sites. Sites in the hookup area are a bit more squished together than those in the non-hookup loops. A Visitor's Center offers educational information of wildlife and the history of the beach. For those who wish to escape camp for a few hours, the nearby towns of Dana Point and San Clemente are just a few minutes away!

San Clemente, San Onofre, and Doheny State Beach are all awesome California beach campgrounds. The problem I always used to run into is simply getting reservations. It always seems that ReserveAmerica is booked up the full 6 months in advance. I would recommend your readers checkout www.powercamper.com . It is a system I built that leverages cancellations so that you can get into nearly any of these popular campgrounds in the next couple of weeks, instead of having to wait for six months. Check it out if you get a chance!
