Sunset Campground is located directly across the street from Furnace Creek Ranch and is a true "campground" versus the "RV park" feel of Furnace Creek Ranch. True to it's name, Sunset Campground offers some spectacular views of the mountains at sunset as well as sunrise. Interior roads are paved, while sites are gravel. Although there is no privacy between sites, the mountain views will keep your eyes off your neighbors. Due to its proximity, all the amenities of the Furnace Creek Ranch are available at Sunset
as well. You will find a saloon, restaurant, small convenience market, gift shop, golf course, Jeep rentals and more there to enjoy. Weather here can be unpredictable, however winters are usually mild and summers are deathly hot (hence the name of the park). The campground is centrally located in this larger National Park, making it easy to sight-see during the day. Located as close as it is to Los Angeles and southern California, Death Valley is designated as an International Dark Sky Park, so come prepared to see some amazing night skies.
