This large, beautiful state park dedicated to our veterans is a wonderful place to spend several days! Set along Blackshear Lake, the campground offers spacious sites with large gravel patios, hookups, campfire rings, a playground, group picnic shelters and lots of trees to keep you cool! Blackshear Lake is great for fishing (from one of the many fishing piers throughout the park), boating, but not swimming since alligators are present. The park has a small, but informative indoor museum dedicated to our nation's wartime history, an outdoor display of real wartime helicopters, planes and artillery weapons which is fun to peruse for kids and adults alike! There is a small gift shop as well. If you'd rather spend
sometime at the links, you can play a round at the Lake Blackshear Resort and Golf club located within the park. Or, play disc golf, spend some time at the marina, swimming beach, hiking a trail, geocaching or take a ride on the Sam Shortline Excursion Train which departs just inside the entrance of the park! Boat rentals and cottages are available.
