Brazos Bend State Park, Needville, Texas

They say in Texas everything is bigger, and that is definitely true when it comes to Brazos Bend State Park! This enormous park with seven lakes, a river, and a creek has so much to offer! One of the most scenic places we have been, this park is clean, offers electrical and water hookups, primitive sites, a nature center where children can pet lizards, a playground, fishing pier, several lakes, walking and biking paths, wildlife viewing, banquet hall, amphitheater, observatory, screened shelters, a State Park Store and group picnic areas. Two main camping loops offer easy access to trails and beautiful, spacious
sites. While we were visiting, Hurricane Alex was at its peak in the park, so we had limited time to explore the park, but in a few short hours we were able to enjoy swamps, walking paths, and bike trails. We managed to spot a bullfrog, a beaver, an armadillo, and many species of birds. Note that alligators are present in the swamps, so swimming in the lakes and swamps is not allowed.

Being the Texas girl that I am, I look forward to visiting this place next time I'm in the Lone Star State! THanks for the great information. Camping would be a lot harder without this site!
