Albuquerque KOA Journey, Albuquerque, New Mexico

If you want to stop off for a night, arriving late in the evening and leaving early the next morning, then this KOA could work for you. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother. Sites are close together, offer no privacy, are not scenic and freeway noise from the Interstate 40 can be heard quite well inside your motorhome with all windows and doors closed! There must not be restrictions as to the types of vehicles that can "camp" here since we woke up to find a catering truck parked next to us. Although it claims to be "centrally" located in its title, this parking lot is situated on the eastern edge of town and a good 15 to 20 minute drive to most attractions: Isotopes Stadium, Old
Town, University of New Mexico to name a few. A pool, laundry, meager store, cabins and, during our particular stay, a graffiti covered playground are available to guests. A nicer option than this KOA would be the American RV Park about 15 miles west of Albuquerque.
