South Campground, Zion National Park, Utah

This campground perched at the entrance of Zion National Park is another great option, especially if you don't have a reservation during the summer months, as all sites are first-come, first-served. It borders Watchman Campground so the beautiful views of Zion and all the same park amenities are available: Visitor's Center, National Park shuttles, restaurants, museum, shops, and a theater, as well as proximity to the town of Springdale. This campground borders the Virgin River, just as the Watchman Campground, however all sites are primitive, with no water, no electricity and limited generator use. Summer temperatures are extremely hot, and with little shade
available at this campground a hookup site at a local resort or Watchman Campground are preferred, but if you are a wandering traveler that doesn't like to stick to itineraries, this might be the perfect place for you!
