San Simeon State Park, Cambria, California

Cambria is a beautiful area, however the campground here is not wooded Cambria pines as you might expect. It does provide beautiful vistas of the ocean from some sites. The beach is across the highway, and a walking path will get you there from camp. There are two camps in this campground: San Simeon Creek and Washburn. From San Simeon Creek it is a much shorter walk to the beach and sites are more wooded and grassy than Washburn. However, Washburn is set up on a mountain bluff where 360 degree views are available in some spots, while most spots provide either a view of the ocean or a
view of the valley to the east. Cambria is a short drive away where you can easily spend an afternoon shopping and enjoying the charm of the town. Reservations are not site-specific.
