Cave Springs Campground, Sedona, Arizona

This is an absolutely stunning campground just north of Sedona. Camp is set down at the bottom of Oak Creek Canyon along Oak Creek. Shade is abundant here with the heavy pine and riparian community and most sites are spacious and fairly private. The creek offers water play and trout fishing. The campground has a small store with amenities, including fishing licenses and Popsicles for the kids. This is a popular place to camp, so reservations are recommended, but only allowed on site numbers 11-21. Without them, you'll be lucky to get one of the 70 other sites on stand-by as people begin to line up outside of the campground as early as 7am to try to get a spot
for a night. Nearby you will find the town of Sedona which offers Jeep tours, shopping, restaurants and views of the beautiful Sedona landscape that draws visitors each year. Also nearby is Slide Rock State Park which is an awesome way to spend a hot Arizona afternoon enjoying the natural "slides" along a section of Oak Creek. Travel into Oak Creek Canyon from Flagstaff along the 89-A can be a nail biter with some tight hairpin turns and steep drop offs, although the scenery is stellar.
